Food Resource List for Families
June 25th, 2020
Dear Parents and Families:
Our opening dates for our Somerset, Cove Rd., and Nash Rd. centers will be July 6th. Our Howland and Russells Mills Rd. centers were used for Emergency Daycare and require more time to prepare and will be opened on July 8th. We are looking forward to welcoming back all of our children and families, but going forward, there will be new polices to keep our children, staff, and families safe.
Firstly, our capacity has been reduced by approximate 50% before we closed. We have already started calling parents to create a phased reopening of our centers. As the summer goes on and we get more information or a capacity increase we will begin a Phase 2 and allow more families back to the centers. Secondly, our hours are changing to 7:30-4:30 to allow time to clean our facilities before and after care. Finally, busing has temporary been suspended. We will have more information regarding busing in the following weeks, and will keep parents informed.
We will also be having new check in procedures for the health and safety of our families, staff, and children. Masks must be worm by parents and guardians during pick-up and drop-off. All parents must also adhere to your pickup and drop off time windows to help encourage social distancing. Parents and guardians will receive all the new changes/regulations for our operations when we re-open. Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time and we can’t wait to see all of our families again soon.
Sincerely,
The Crayon Campus Team

Dear Parents and Families:
We have missed seeing you all everyday at our centers. We are glad to be reopening our doors on June 29th, 2020. The centers will be different, with new safety measures and protocols in place to protect our families and staff. However, we will still strive to provide the same high quality level of care for all of our children. The Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) has published a Minimum Requirements for Health and Safety regulation booklet, which Crayon Campus will be following. EEC has also published a Frequently Asked Questions handout which has some great information for parents with questions.
Although EEC has scheduled June 29th, 2020 as our opening date, this date is a fluid date and could change based on the public health data for the State of Massachusetts. We will keep all of our families updated with information as soon as we get it. Please stay tuned to our Remind system for these important updates. Thank you for sticking with us, and we hope to see you all soon.
Sincerely,
The Crayon Campus Team

Dear Parents:
We are striving to follow the guidelines laid out by the government, EEC (our state licensing agency) and the CDC. We are also striving to communicate consistently – please continue to check our Facebook, sign up for the Remind App, and check our website regularly. As soon as we know, you will know.
We are strongly encouraging families to keep their children at home if at all possible. We have already reached out to parents regarding if they plan on attending.
We will not turn away parents that need our care as long as we stay open.
All of our sites are continuing to disinfect, clean, sanitize, and take all regular preventive measures that include:
Hourly cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfection following EEC guidelines.
Handwashing for staff and children – When your child arrives in the room, they wash their hands, before and after eating, any play at sensory tables, when they cough/sneeze, any bathroom visits or diaper changes. All of our bathrooms are continuously stocked with supplies for both children and adults.
Any mouth toys for toddlers and infants were cleaned and sanitized throughout the day prior to this pandemic, however we are now removing these toys from our classrooms for the foreseeable future.
In addition to our regular preventative measures, we have implemented immediate changes:
All toothbrushing has been suspended.
We have implemented social distancing during meal times.
Drop offs, pick-ups, etc. will be handled at the front areas for all of our centers. We are asking parents/guardians do not enter the classrooms.
We are posting signs and symptoms of COVID-19/Coronavirus in our centers (fever, cough, shortness of breath).
We are also asking staff to remain at home if they or someone they know is sick.
What you can do at home:
Discuss with your children what the virus is and how they can stay healthy.
Get children into a handwashing habit.
Teach them to wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after blowing their nose, coughing, or sneezing; going to the bathroom; and before eating or preparing food
Remind children to stay away from people who are coughing or sneezing or sick.
Remind them to cough or sneeze into a tissue or their elbow, then throw the tissue into the trash and then wash their hands.

Sincerely,
The Crayon Campus Team
